چکیده

MkIIGB divertor tiles exposed in JET for the 1998–2001 and 1999–2001 campaigns have been used to assess the amount of beryllium and carbon deposited at the inner divertor wall. Total amount of Be at the inner divertor tiles was determined and integrated toroidally. Results were compared with data obtained with optical spectroscopy and good agreement was obtained. The amount of deposited C was computed from the amount of deposited Be assuming that the Be/C ratio arriving in the divertor is the same as the Be/C ratio in the main chamber. On the basis of this analysis we would expect there to be 0.4 kg of C deposited. This gives an average C deposition rate lower than during the MkIIA phase. 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. Microanalysis of deposited layers in the inner divertor of JET with ITER-like wall

In JET with ITER-like wall, beryllium eroded in the main chamber is transported to the divertor and deposited mainly at the horizontal surfaces of tiles 1 and 0 (high field gap closure, HFGC). These surfaces are tungsten coated carbon fibre composite (CFC). Surface sampleswere collected following the plasma operations in 2011–2012 and 2013–2014 respectively. The surfaces, as well as polished cr...

R&D on full tungsten divertor and beryllium wall for JET ITER-like wall project

The ITER reference materials have been tested separately in tokamaks, plasma simulators, ion beams and high heat flux test beds. In order to perform a fully integrated material test JET has launched the ITER-like Wall Project with the aim of installing a full metal wall during the next major shutdown. As a result of R&D projects in 2005–2006, bulk tungsten tiles are foreseen at the outer horizo...

Nonlinear impact of edge localized modes on carbon erosion in the divertor of the JET tokamak.

The impact of edge localized modes (ELMs) carrying energies of up to 450 kJ on carbon erosion in the JET inner divertor is assessed by means of time resolved measurements using an in situ quartz microbalance diagnostic. The inner target erosion is strongly nonlinearly dependent on the ELM energy: a single 400 kJ ELM produces the same carbon erosion as ten 150 kJ events. The ELM-induced enhanced...

Analysis of Tritium/deuterium Retention and Permeation in Fw/divertor including Geometric and Temperature Operating Features

Available data and mathematical formulations concerning tritium transport in the FW/Divertor with tungsten and beryllium as plasma facing materials were implemented in the commercial code COMSOL Multiphysics. The goal is to develop a CAD-based multiphysics modeling capability so that FW/Divertor temperature and geometric features can be readily taken into consideration while tritium permeation ...

Assessment of erosion and surface tritium inventory issues for the ITER divertor 1

We analyzed sputtering erosion and tritium codeposition for the ITER vertical target divertor design using erosion and plasma codes ( W B C / R E D E P / D E G A S + ) coupled to available materials data. Computations were made for a beryllium, carbon, and tungsten coated divertor plate, and for three edge plasma regimes. New data on tritium codeposition in beryllium was obtained with the triti...
